PUBLIC HEARING

RE: PROPOSED RATE INCREASE FOR UTILITIES, INC.
AUGUST 4, 2010

The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) has scheduled a hearing on August 4 to discuss the proposed rate increase from Utilities, Inc.

Back in April, Utilities, Inc. included a letter in their invoices for water and sewer services notifying all property owners that the company had filed for a rate increase with the ICC.

While the Association recognizes the amount of capital improvements since 1987 that have improved service in The Galena Territory, the Association is concerned about the size of the increase Utilities, Inc. is requesting.

If you want to voice your concerns about the pending rate increase, please plan on attending this special meeting hosted by the ICC. This will be the only meeting the ICC will hold for our property owners. According to 83 Illinois Administrative Code Part 200, the

ICC may alter or amend the rates or conditions of service following official customer hearings by either increasing or decreasing individual rates in amounts other than those requested by Utilities, Inc.
The ICC hearings will be recorded, and the ICC will review all customer testimony provided at the hearing.
